FAQs

  • Yes. If your individual income is below $55k per year, we can adapt our rates to you. Our lowest available rate is $80 per session for individuals and $100 per session for relationship counselling, and rates move up from there based on income.

Coming to an agreement on per-session costs is a collaborative process. To begin this conversation, reach out to max@integrate-counselling.com with the following subject line: Inquiry – Low-cost and sliding scale counselling

  • We’ve put all of our booking, scheduling, and payment steps into one place: the Jane app.

Any of the buttons on this site offering consultations or appointments/sessions will take you to Jane, where you’ll be prompted to make an account and select a timeslot that works for you.

Free consultations can be booked completely independently. For full sessions, a completed consultation is preferred before you make a booking. See the FAQs on consultations for an explanation. Still, we know that sometimes mental health support is needed quickly, so we’ve left online booking open for full sessions.

  • Our free consultation is a chance for you and your therapist to get to know each other and discuss what you’d like to work on. The connection between you is the biggest predictor of whether you get the results you want out of therapy, so this time is valuable.

Your therapist will describe their counselling approach and philosophy, you’ll have a chance to ask any questions you have, and you’ll also have have some time to just talk.

Use the consultation to make an informed decision about whether you want to move forward together. There is no obligation to book further sessions after a consultation.

An important note here is that since consultations happen before you’ve signed any confidentiality and informed consent forms, we’ll need to be thoughtful about how we talk about your concerns.

  • After your consultation, if you choose to begin therapy with Integrate, there are a few key steps:

    1. You can book your first appointment right from our website. Click any of the ‘book an appointment’ links and you’ll be taken to our Jane App page.

    2. Have a look at our availability and choose a time that works for you.

    3. Once you’ve booked an appointment, you’ll be sent the informed consent and confidentiality forms that help make sure our work aligns with the highest ethical standards. You can sign these online or they can be completed with your therapist. Either way, you’ll have the chance to ask questions and get clarity on any aspect of these forms in your first session

Starting with Integrate

  • If you’re cancelling more than 24 hours from your appointment, you can do this seamlessly. Life happens, and making room for that is important.

If you’re cancelling within 24 hours from your scheduled appointment, a late cancellation fee will be charged to your account. This is because that spot was held for you, and filling it within 24 hours is quite challenging.

If paying this fee will be disruptive, please let us know at max@integrate-couselling.com

  • Payments can be made the day of your booked session, and must be made no more than a week afterward.

The simplest method is to upload your credit card information to your account in our secure online booking and payment app, Jane. You’ll be offered the chance to do that when you start your account.

We also accept e-transfer and cash, and we’re happy to go with the easiest option for you.

We’re also working actively to take payments directly from insurers, though this feature isn’t ready quite yet.

  • Integrate is working as we speak to accept payment directly from a variety of insurers to make your experience more convenient and affordable, but at the moment, we only accept direct payment.

  • I meet all eligibility requirements for BCACC membership and my application is currently processing, but it is not yet complete. Regardless, therapy at Integrate adheres to all BCACC standards of ethics and practice.
